Living in Gloucestershire
Whether you live on campus or not, you’ll be just a stone’s throw from everything Gloucestershire has to offer. From outdoor adventure to nightclubs, bars and cosy coffee shops, there is something for all. Sports Take your pick from Cheltenham Racecourse, home of the world-famous Cheltenham Festival, Kingsholm Stadium, the base of Gloucester Rugby, and Cheltenham Town FC. You could watch a different sport almost every weekend, if you like.
Food You’ll never go hungry on campus, but there are plenty of delicious options in Gloucester for when you fancy something a little different. From Café on the Cut, which offers tea and cakes on a barge boat, to Hubble Bubble Coffee House, a quirky, family-run snack bar, there are plenty of unique places to kick-back after lectures. Nightlife Enjoy rock music at The 2 Pigs, retro at Fever, pop at Moomoos or up-and-coming bands at Café René and The Frog and Fiddle. You’ll find sports at Lounge 72 and delicious craft ales at TANK.
Adventure Explore ancient woodland and a dramatic river valley in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Go mountain biking on steep forest tracks, scale rocks or descend into prehistoric caves. If you’re looking for a more relaxing day out, try canoeing down the Wye Valley.
7
Festivals From music, arts and science to sports, food and tall ships, there’s a festival to suit every interest. Some of our favourites include Frightmare spookfest and 2000Trees music festival, as well as Cheltenham’s annual Jazz, Literature, Science and Music festivals which draw stars from around the world.
We have regular buses on site to connect you with Gloucestershire and beyond. A public bus is available on weekdays and a free Hartpury shuttle bus operates on weekday evenings and Saturdays. www.hartpury.ac.uk/uni-transport
