Animal Care Level 2*

Our Level 2 Technical Diploma in Animal Care will give you a good introduction to the animal management industry and prepare you for Level 3 study. You’ll develop the theoretical and practical knowledge to care for animals in a manner that meets health and welfare standards. Working with a range of species in our animal collection, you'll get hands-on planning and monitoring animal feeding, managing accommodation, and maintaining health. Work experience will broaden your skills and experience in a real-life industry situation. Topics covered include Animal Biology and Health, Animal Welfare and Behaviour, as well as feeding, accommodating, and moving animals. Your progression opportunities On successful completion of this course at Merit or Distinction level, you could go on to study our Level 3 BTEC in Animal Management. You could also begin your career in the animal industry as a: • Kennel or Cattery Assistant • Pet Shop Assistant • Veterinary Assistant or Receptionist • Animal Collection Worker *Level 2 assessment | You'll have two external assessments, which will include an exam. In addition, the internally assessed units include the completion of assignments, practical assessments, and presentations.
