Our racing simulators – the Racewood Eventing Simulator and MK10 Racing Simulator – use state-of-the-art technology and are among the most advanced in an education setting

We’ve been putting riding equipment under the spotlight. With a grant from the British Horse Foundation, our equine research specialists have found improvements to saddle fitting techniques, which have already been adopted by professional saddle fitters within the industry. Our research-active lecturers have been investigating whether whips are being used for the right purpose, and in the right way, to maximise horse welfare and performance within equestrian sport. We found that equine-assisted activities, such as leading a horse on a rein, appear to improve the immediate quality of life for people with dementia. This unparalleled access gives our students a unique perspective to find previously unexplored topics for their undergraduate dissertations. Many students present their findings to leading scientists at our annual Alltech equine conference inspiring further research, and have their research published in prestigious academic journals.
