Ahigh-performance setting Ten Sports Academies on campus make us the ideal place to develop professional coaching skills or undertake research to help improve the world of performance and grassroots sport. We’ve produced over 250 international athletes across the past 15 years. We’re also home to high-performance squads: Hartpury University RFC Championship team, Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s RFC Premier 15s team, Hartpury University Football Club, Hartpury University and Hartpury College Boat Club. Outstanding canine expertise Our canine specialisms enable us to drive forward newways of working to improve athletic performance, health and welfare. Students work on canine performance projects with the Kennel Club’s GB Agility team, hydrotherapy projects with The Cotswold Dog Spa, assisted therapy projects in our bespoke facilities, and a diverse range of biomechanics, nutrition, physiotherapy and welfare projects with academic staff and different organisations. A professional approach Our Canine Hydrotherapy Centre on campus is pioneering new approaches to therapy and rehabilitation for dogs. Students gain experience here and focus their studies on important topical areas. Canine opportunities We host the UKA Hartpury Agility Show, where students can gain hands-on

Shining a spotlight on equine rehabilitation We understand the world of equine therapy and rehabilitation, with globally leading expertise in hydrotherapy and high- speed treadmill treatment facilities and programmes. Over 20 years’ experience made us the ideal co-producer – alongside the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) and Petplan Charitable Trust – for the world’s first international guidelines: Equine Water Treadmills: a guide for users , which are informing the training of hundreds of sports horses worldwide. Getting stuck in Postgraduate students support and lead important projects in our Equine Therapy Centre, designing and implementing treatment programmes for a range of horses, from novice to elite.

Our Margaret Giffen Centre for Rider Performance Our renowned rider performance centre is used for learning and research by over 600 Hartpury students, as well as to support riders of all abilities. This includes the following groups, who you could have access to as part of your postgraduate studies: Olympic champions such as Charlotte Dujardin who optimises her performance through regular sessions Professional event rider Jonty Evans, for whom facilities were essential to rehabilitating him back to competition following his riding accident in 2018 Para-riders at an annual para-dressage boot camp Riding for the Disabled members who develop their riding skills on our simulators before getting on a real horse.
