Uniformed Protective Services at Hartpury
Our Uniformed Protective Services course will give you the skills, confidence, and resilience to follow a career in the armed and blue-light services. At Hartpury, you'll benefit from our links with the British Army, RAF, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, police, ambulance, and fire services.
Uniformed Protective Services Level 3 This course will give you an understanding of the uniformed protective services and armed services, including the police, fire and rescue, ambulance, and prison services, HM Revenue and Customs, Royal Navy, RAF, and the British Army. You’ll complete a week of work experience to explore the careers open to you. You’ll also take part in practical sessions every week in terms two and three, and hear from industry speakers. First-year modules include Citizenship and Diversity, Behaviour and Discipline, Teamwork, Leadership and Communication. Second-year modules will cover Government and the Protective Services, Global Affairs and the Media, an Introduction to Criminology, Police Powers and the Law, and Expedition Skills.
Your progression opportunities Our students have gone on to complete degrees in criminology, law, policing, paramedic science, psychology, and disaster management at a range of universities. This could lead to a career in these uniformed protective services: • Armed services – the British Army,
RAF, Royal Marines, Royal Navy • Local and central government • Fire and rescue service • Ambulance service • Police service • Paramedic
