Digital Strategy

5

Underpinning Hartpury’s 2030 strategy is the need for Hartpury’s students, staff, and partners to interact effectively, confidently, and efficiently with our digital systems. Systems must be fit for purpose, easy to use, accessible and secure to ensure that the digital user experience supports success in both academic and support environments. Users must have access to appropriate system training and support to maximise the benefits offered through digital tools. We must monitor developing and innovative digital systems and technologies, and consider their suitability for use, to ensure that the Hartpury community is benefitting from the most effective tools available where appropriate. We are committed to ensuring that users of Hartpury digital technology have a positive, valuable experience to support them in reaching their potential. To achieve this, we will: 1.1. Adopt a ‘digital first’ approach to ensure digital systems are the first consideration and provide an effective digital solution wherever possible. 1.2. Provide ongoing training opportunities for our systems’ users to build digital confidence, allowing them to benefit fully from the functionality available, providing valuable skills and experience.

1.3. Apply continuous improvement principles to drive efficient processes, underpinned by effective data flows, integrated systems and data-driven decision making, reducing duplication of effort and manual ways of working, and improving satisfaction in the user experience. 1.4. Establish an institutional approach to AI to ensure safety, ethical and compliance measures are in place, developments are monitored, and potential benefits are maximised. 1.5. Ensure accessibility compliance, in line with legislation and Government recommendations, across all Hartpury-controlled systems. 1.6. Address the digital divide, providing Hartpury users with access to the necessary digital resources to enable engagement in their work or studies. We will provide the tools required to succeed, from teaching, learning and research resources, to support services. 1.7. Promote sustainable digital practices and usage to minimise environmental impact through support, training and policies to encourage responsible digital consumption, effective remote work practices, and digital waste reduction.
