Get prepared to come to Hartpury
Getting to campus Car: There is ample free parking on campus, but all students bringing a car must register it online during enrolment. This includes those living on campus and those traveling in and using the car parks. Train: The nearest train station to campus is Gloucester, 15 minutes away. Bus: Most students travelling to Hartpury via bus come via Gloucester, available via the following: Hartpury Shuttle: This Hartpury specific service is operated by Zeelo for our students and staff. - Weekdays – The service going from Brunswick Road and Blackfriars Gloucester directly to Hartpury and back operates between 6.30am and 10pm during term time. - Saturdays – A free minibus service runs from Westgate Street and St Oswalds Retail Park to Hartpury and back between 6.35am and 5.30pm. - Sundays – A free minibus service from Hartpury to Westgate Street and St Oswalds Retail Park and back to campus is available from 12.15pm until 5.50pm. If you’re likely to be using the service regularly, we recommend buying an annual pass, also available via Zeelo. Visit our website for more information. www.hartpury.ac.uk/transport Public transport: The Stagecoach 351 service operates from Gloucester. This service has a bus stop on the A417 just outside the boundary of the Hartpury campus. Tickets are available via Stagecoach. To plan your journey to Hartpury via Stagecoach, visit www.stagecoachbus.com/plan-a-journey. Public Taxi: There are several taxi firms in Gloucester. Our recommended firm is Andy Cars. Your Welcome and Freshers’ Week
If you’re joining us on the first year of your degree, or for a Foundation Year, here’s an overview of your first week. We’ll be in touch with more details via email.
Your online enrolment Tuesday 2 September 2025
You’ll receive an email with your Hartpury network user credentials and access to library resources. This means you can start some of your recommended reading – check page 3 for details. Week commencing 8 September 2025 We’ll send you an email inviting you to enrol online on Tuesday 10 September. Students are invited at different times of the day by course and the email could arrive any time up until 4.30pm. It’s important you complete this to ensure everything goes smoothly when you arrive. Make sure you do this by 5pm on 18 September to receive your student loan on time (for UK students only) – read more on the next page. Please note: As part of your online enrolment, you’ll let us know how you’re funding your course. If you’re self-funding, you’ll need to set up a recurring card payment, so make sure you have your payment card ready. International Orientation (for international students only) Friday 12 September 2025 Move in to your new room and enjoy a pub quiz and food in the evening. Saturday 13 September 2025 Meet our support teams and join a trip to our local city, Gloucester. Sunday 14 September 2025 Join in with Residential Welcome Day (see details below). If you’re moving into Hartpury accommodation on campus, this is when you’ll collect your room key and get your student ID card, which will give you access to your accommodation hall (see pages 11-12 for details). We’ll send your accommodation allocation on 25 June 2025 and let you know your dedicated move-in time slot. See page 11 for more on moving into Hartpury Campus Halls or Hartpury Gloucester accommodation (Blackfriars) Residential Welcome Day Sunday 14 September 2025

Your Welcome Week Monday 15 - Friday 19 September 2025
You’ll have your academic induction with your Programme Manager, meet your classmates and take part in subject sessions. This will include practical activities, so make sure you bring your kit and equipment (page 3). Find out more about your first week by watching your induction video (page 4). Once you’ve completed your academic induction and made your module choices, you’ll receive your personal timetable by Friday 19 September 2025. Top-up students If you’re joining us for your top-up year, or the second or third year of a degree, you’ll come on site for an induction day with your Programme Manager and classmates during the first half of Welcome Week (15-19 September 2025), in addition to online sessions. We’ll send details via email in July.
Your Freshers’ Week Monday 15 - Friday 19 September 2025
Our Student Experience team is busy planning your Freshers’ Week to help you settle in, make friends and feel at home. Whether you love parties and pub crawls or prefer movie nights and quizzes, we’ve got you covered with a great line-up of events and activities to suit everyone. Find out more on pages 13-14.
Get your student loan (for UK students only) Monday 22 September 2025 (first week of teaching)
Providing you’ve applied for your loan, the Student Loan Company have approved your application and you’ve successfully completed your online enrolment before 5pm on Thursday 18 September 2025 at the latest, you’ll get your student loan on 22 September 2025. If you enrol after this date, you’ll receive your loan three business days after enrolling. Enrolling online also gives access to course specific information, council tax exception certificates and proof of enrolment for your student bank account, so we recommend you do this as soon as you receive your invitation. Your social spaces When you’re not taking part in course activities or Freshers’ events, there are plenty of spaces to relax. Grab lunch in our new SU Loft, Graze student centre, chill out in Legends student bar – which also serves Starbucks – or unwind in cosy cabins in the University Study Lounge.

If you’re a UK student, this is when you’ll move in. You’ll have a dedicated time slot for your accommodation hall – which we’ll send to you on 25 June 2025 This means you’ll move in at the same time as your housemates, so you can settle in together and make friends. International students: You’ll move in on Friday 12 Septmber 2025. See page 9 for details. We’ll be in touch with more information via email. You should have received an email with your accommodation allocation. If you haven’t, please let us know by emailing accommodation@hartpury.ac.uk Your Residential Welcome Day at a glance: Welcome Hub: Meet staff from our dedicated support teams, including Admissions, Finance, Transport, Careers, IT, Students’ Union, Student Advisors, as well as Wellbeing, Academic, and Learning Support. This is where you’ll collect your student ID card. Registry: Meet our team for a few enrolment checks. Keys: Collect your room key and accommodation pack. Your student ID card will give you access to your accommodation hall. Meet your SU: They’re a friendly face on campus. Accommodation hall induction: Find out about Hartpury accommodation. Campus tour: For students only. We’ll show you around our beautiful campus. Parent/carer sessions: Throughout the day to answer your questions. Hartpury Gloucester accommodation (Blackfriars) You’ll receive details about moving into Blackfriars directly from Cityheart, who manage our City of Gloucester accommodation. A member of the Hartpury team will be there on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September to answer any questions you may have. Join our programme of Freshers’ activities on and off campus for the rest of the week to start making friends.
We’ll throw fun freshers’ events on Sunday evening to help you settle in. We’ll be in touch before you arrive.

Accommodation FAQs What should I pack? Find your packing lists (and what not to bring!) on your Enrolment Hub and start getting prepared. Visit www.hartpury.ac.uk/ug-hub Where can I park when I arrive? You’ll be directed to the car park closest to your accommodation.* Here you’ll be able to unload your things and move into your new room. There’s a pay and display car park opposite the building. Cityheart will be in touch with all the details you need. Where can I do my washing? You’ll have access to our campus laundrette, next to Limbury 12 halls, and use an app to pay for your washing. There are laundry facilities in the building. Where can I eat? Our Graze restaurant serves hot and cold food, and Legends bar also sells snacks and Starbucks Coffee.There’s a café at our Equine Centre and a snack truck at the farm. You’ll have plenty of cafés, shops and restaurants to choose from in nearby Gloucester Quays and the city centre. Where can I buy my household items? If you’re moving into our self-catered accommodation, our linen and cutlery starter kit might come in handy. You can buy this online at estore.hartpury.ac.uk Select Product Catalogue and Non-invoiced Student Charges. Where do I pick up my post? Located in the Student Zone, Student Services is where you’ll send and pick up your post (make sure you have your student ID). Amazon lockers are also available on campus in the Student Zone. I’m a top-up student, where can I live? Whilst we don’t offer Hartpury accommodation for top-up students (unless you’re an international student), there are plenty of great options nearby, if you decide to relocate for your studies.

Your Freshers’ Week
Our Student Experience team is busy planning Freshers’ Week to help you settle in, make friends and feel at home. We’ll start the week with a welcome event in Legends bar on Sunday evening, with live music and some great drinks deals. It’s the perfect way to relax and get to know your housemates. For the rest of the week, get involved in an outdoor cinema and movie nights, the big freshers’ quiz, Glos Vegas bar crawl in nearby Gloucester, freshers’ fair, and dogs and donuts – who doesn’t love the idea of eating cake and meeting our lovable therapy dog, Ralph? Clubs and societies Whether you want to carry on doing something you love or try something different, joining a club is a great way to meet people and have new experiences. You’ll meet over 50 local health and wellbeing providers, engage in discussions on a range of important student topics – from mental health, positive relationships and consent, to body image, gender identity, drink/ drug driving – and get to have a go on the climbing wall and obstacle course.

Get connected
From WiFi access to IT packages and technical support, here’s everything you need to know about staying connected at Hartpury. Stay connected You’ll have access to WiFi in all campus buildings; including the library, study areas, your accommodation and classrooms. Eduroam WiFi – This is what you’ll use on campus. On your enrolment day, we’ll set you up with WiFi access through your student account. Guest access – During Enrolment there will be a WIFi available called Enrolment2025. You can use this to until you have Eduroam or Res-Wifi working. All students also have access to Res-Wifi. Res-Wifi will allow you to connect your devices that don’t support Eduroam. Chromebooks, Kindles etc and in Accommodation your Xbox, PlayStation, Roku, Alexa, Smart TVs. Don’t forget to switch over to Eduroam WiFi or Res-Wifi when you’re all set up with your student account. If you’re connecting on an Android phone, you’ll need these details: phase 1; PEAP, phase 2; MSCHAPv2, certificate; do not validate. IT packages As a Hartpury student, you’ll have access to the following services for free: - Microsoft Office 365 subscription on your laptop - SPSS statistical programme (used for dissertations and research projects) - Use of all computers on campus - Use of OneDrive, providing protection for your ongoing projects and work Need help? Our friendly IT team are here to help you with any technical problems. Visit the IT Help Desk in the Student Zone near Student Services. Check the map location on page 18.
