Human-Animal Interaction (Animal Assisted Therapy) BSc (Hons) / BSc (Hons) with Foundation year
Central to this degree is the benefit of human- animal interaction in pet and therapeutic settings. You’ll examine the role that animals have in enriching human lives – as pets, in zoos, farms and conservation contexts. You’ll understand the benefits of the human-animal bond, focusing on the role that animals play in improving people’s social, emotional and cognitive wellbeing. This includes the rehabilitation of humans with mental and physical illnesses, as well as the promotion of wellbeing in children, adults and the elderly. Industry opportunities Gaining experience in industry is a core part of the degree, to ensure you’re ready for employment when you graduate. You’ll benefit from opportunities on-campus in our commercial equine and canine therapy centres as well as with our industry partners in Gloucestershire, across the UK and internationally.
