PASSPORT TO HARTPURY

Getting organised

Your to-do list for your first week will look something like this:

Collect your biometric residence permit (if you need one)

Register with the police (if required)

Set up your phone and internet connections

Register with a doctor

Open a UK bank account Learn how to get around

Get used to planning your own meals

Collectingyour biometric residence permit (if you need one) Your biometric residence permit (BRP) is proof of your right to stay, work and study in the UK. It can also be used as a form of identification, for example when you go to open a UK bank account. If you provided the alternative collection location (ACL) code as part of your visa application, your BRP will be sent directly to Hartpury and you can collect it as part of your enrolment. Remember to bring your passport to the enrolment session so we can take copies for immigration purposes.

Registeringwith the police (if required) Students from some countries are required to register their visa with the Gloucestershire Police within seven days of arrival in the UK. If this applies to you, it should be indicated on your temporary entry visa vignette or BRP. The cost of registration is £34. Police registration will be organised to take place within your first week on campus. You will be provided the date, time and location for this event at your enrolment. At the end of the registration process, you will receive a police registration certificate (PRC) to prove you’ve complied with this requirement of your visa.
