Passing through border control A Border Force officer will check your travel and visa documents so make sure you have everything you need in your hand luggage (refer to the list on page 12). They may ask you some questions, such as why you’re coming to the UK to study or what your future plans are. Make sure you have hard copies of all your important documents and do not rely on digital versions.

Once you have cleared immigration, you can collect your baggage.

Customs and baggage checks After collecting your baggage, you must walk through the customs area to leave the airport. If you have nothing to declare, you can pass through the green channel. If you have goods to declare, you must pass through the red channel.

Customs officers can ask to inspect your baggage. If they make this request, you must co-operate. You can read more on UK customs at www.gov.uk/government/ publications/travelling-to-the-uk

Welcome to the UK! Once you’ve left the customs area you are free to find your driver (if you’re being collected) and start your journey to Hartpury. If your flight is cancelled, delayed or you are not on your flight, you must telephone our International team on 00 44 (0) 1452 702344 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) or our Transport team on 00 44 (0) 7975 951267 , so they can inform the driver.
