Arriving at the airport

When you arrive in the UK, you’ll have to show your passport or identity card as well as your entry visa (or temporary travel vignette) to a UK Border Force officer. EU, EEA or Swiss nationals will not be able to use an ID card to enter the UK from 1 October 2021, except under certain conditions. You’ll need to prove that you meet all current entry requirements in relation to Covid-19, including any tests, as advised by the UK government. Can I use an ePassport gate? As it will be your first time entering the UK on your Student visa, we recommend you do not use an ePassport gate and instead go to an officer at an immigration desk. It is possible to use an ePassport Gate if you have a biometric passport and are also an EU citizen.
