Equine Science with Therapy BSc (Hons) / BSc (Hons) with Foundation year

Central to this degree is equine health and rehabilitation. You’ll learn about a range of equine diseases and disorders, different diagnostic techniques and hydro and physical therapies. Exercise anatomy and physiology will be integral to your learning, as you examine how the horse’s body works and evaluate the impact of exercise. You’ll also develop your expertise in the biomechanical and behavioural aspects that impact performance. You’ll gain experience in our equine therapy centre, equipped with its own water treadmill to rehabilitate horses. Industry opportunities A work placement in your final year and an optional sandwich year mean you can gain valuable experience in industry. Students have recently undertaken work placements at our Equine Therapy Centre, as well as at rehabilitation, veterinary care and re-homing centres including the Blue Cross. This course is ideal for those who are passionate about equine health and rehabilitation, and want to further develop their scientific expertise in this area.
