Sports Coaching Foundation (FdSc)

In your first year different modules will give you a strong understanding of effective sports coaching. You’ll learn about sports development and sports leadership, as well as undertaking your first coaching work placement. Your second year will see you focus your studies in the direction you want to take your coaching career. You’ll complete your second placement in industry, choose modules to suit your interests and learn about industry research. Industry opportunities You’ll undertake 220 hours of work experience in industry. We have great partnerships with local schools, the Football Association and the Rugby Football Union, as well as with Active Gloucestershire and Gloucester Athletics. You could also gain experience with our own sports teams and athletes. This course is ideal for those who enjoy getting the best out of people and want to develop their coaching knowledge and practice to the next level. Gain the knowledge and industry experience you need to be an effective sports coach. You’ll be supported to develop your own professional portfolio of coaching experiences, ready for your career.
