Before qualifying as a PE teacher, Gemma was an international rugby player. She now plays for Gloucester-Hartpury Women's RFC.

Lecturer Profile

“I’ve been a professional athlete and I now want to share my passion and experience with future generations moving through sport. Gemma Sharples Programme Manager and Lecturer, PE and School Sports Outdoor education has recently been made a compulsory part of the curriculum, so we decided to build our first ever outdoor classroom on campus. We now have schools come here to be taught, which provides so many opportunities for my students to learn. It also means they’ll stand out from the crowd when they graduate and have skills that employers are looking for."
