Central to this degree is food production efficiency. You’ll learn to increase farming outputs, developing a sustainable business with minimal impact on natural resources. You’ll build skills in growing, managing and maintaining crops, exploring new technologies including genetically modified organisms (GMO) and implementing nutrient management and crop protection plans. Business modules will give you good knowledge of the latest farm management practices. This will prepare you for your graduate career. Industry opportunities You’ll be supported in different work placements during your degree. Students have recently gained experience with supermarkets, plant breeders and agronomists, as well as subsistence farming in Uganda. You could study a semester of your degree in the USA or Canada and undertake an integrated placement year in industry.** This course is ideal for those who want to progress into a crop management career, helping to increase food production in a sustainable way whilst making a profit. Develop practical skills in crop production and soil management. Explore green technologies and gain plenty of industry experience.
