Sports Business Management BA (Hons) / BA (Hons) with Foundation year

Develop the business skills and experience that employers are looking for. You’ll study the core principles and practice of sports business, including finance, marketing, leadership, sponsorship, brand development and project management. Real business briefs will strengthen your learning to ensure you graduate ready to hit the ground running. You could find yourself managing a graduate assessment centre or pitching a new business idea in Dragons’ Den style. You can tailor your studies to suit your career goals and undertake an ILM qualification that’s widely recognised by employers. Industry opportunities A work placement in your second year, alongside the opportunity to undertake an integrated placement year in industry, will prepare you for graduate employment. We have great partnerships with local and national sports clubs and businesses including links with Gloucester Rugby, our own Hartpury RFC rugby team, Tour of Britain and Cheltenham Racecourse. This course is ideal for those who have a passion for sport and business, good communication skills and the drive to succeed. Immerse yourself in the business side of performance sport, studying events, sponsorship, entrepreneurship and more. Megan Jeffery

Megan is the first UK student to be accepted on to the Sport and Olympic Studies Masters Programme at the Tsukuba International Academy for Sports Studies in Japan. "My research will focus on how to prevent stadiums and arenas from going to waste after Olympic Games. I’ll recommend how Japan can learn lessons ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games."
