Equine Science Integrated Masters (MSci)

You’ll hear from professionals in lectures and strengthen your learning through field trips. You’ll tailor your studies after your first year, with subjects covering biomechanics, nutrition, therapy, behaviour, disease and disorders, and breeding. You’ll examine the horse’s body, understanding the effect that exercise, training and nutrition has on performance. Your first two years will follow the standard BSc route, after which you’ll pursue masters-level modules. Your final year research project will enable you to investigate an area that fascinates you. Industry opportunities The optional integrated placement year on this degree means you can gain valuable industry experience. Students have recently undertaken work placements at our Equine Therapy Centre, the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and pharmaceutical companies. You could also undertake an international study exchange at Delaware Valley University, USA.* This course is ideal for those who are keen to investigate various aspects of equine science in detail, uncovering new knowledge through research, before progressing into their career. Complete an undergraduate and postgraduate-level qualification in four years.
