You’ll gain industry knowledge and practical skills in livestock husbandry and handling, as well as nutrition, welfare and breeding – exploring ruminant and mono-gastric production systems. You’ll develop your knowledge of biosecurity in industry and learn how to manage the outbreak of prevalent livestock diseases. Business modules will introduce you to the latest farm management practices and policies, which will help to prepare you for your graduate career. Industry opportunities You’ll undertake a work placement during each year on this degree, with your final year spent almost entirely in industry. Work placement opportunities could include subsistence farming in Uganda*, data collection in abattoirs, as well as working with supermarkets and livestock farms in Gloucestershire, Suffolk and Cornwall.
