Our £8.8 million Sports Academy facilities
Sports Academy teams. Many of these experts are also lecturers on our degrees, which means you’ll get high-level expertise and exciting opportunities as part of your learning. Community sport is also a core part of our provision. You can develop your experience of community sport through our partnerships with local projects and charitable organisations. We’ll support you to develop your skills and community connections so that you’re able to make an informed choice about your career direction. At Hartpury, you'll have so many opportunities to develop an impressive CV. With experience in different sports, exercise and health practices, you'll stand out to employers in the sport and exercise sector.
Our performance Sports Academies help students reach their sporting peaks. They also enable those not competing to gain valuable experience behind the scenes, working with high-level athletes, coaches, therapists and scientists as part of their degree. You could treat high-performing athletes in our sports therapy clinic, refine rowers’ performance in our labs or strengthen equestrian athletes’ posture in our Rider Performance Centre. You could also get to the heart of the action, helping our sports teams with pitchside first aid or developing your marketing and social media skills at big games. Benefit from biomechanics and human performance labs, a rehabilitation suite, medical and physiotherapy rooms, and a 1,500m 2 multi-sports hall. Anti-gravity treadmill
Utilise our unique anti-gravity treadmill that combines precision unweighting technology with real-time gait analytics. Speed up recovery and rehabilitation. Altitude chamber Enhance performance with high-altitude training, which limits oxygen for athletic training. Use our portable VO2 analyser to measure oxygen consumption out on the pitch. 3D cameras and digital mirrors Use 3D and high-speed cameras to track body movement relating to specific exercises and goals. Make the most of high-resolution digital mirror technology, the only one of its kind at an educational institution in the UK, to map
and train body movement. Sports hall and tracks
Our 1,500m2 multi-sports hall is equipped with video performance cameras to analyse technique. Our Tartan running track, sports hall and astro are all fitted with under-floor force plates to measure impact during training .
