Want to earnwhile you learn? As part of your visa conditions, you can work for up to 20 hours a week during term time. Our Students’ Union advertises lots of opportunities to earn extra money, many of them right on campus. You could take on a student ambassador role, work at Legends Bar, assist in the Equine Academy or work as a student warden. You can also find your own part-time work off campus. Otherways to finance your study You may be eligible for grants and bursaries in your home country, so check on your local government website if there are any routes for helping you to finance your degree, such as loans and scholarships. If you are from the USA, Hartpury is eligible to certify Federal Direct Loan applications (FAFSA); in Canada we are recognised by the Ontario Student Aid Program and Alberta Student Aid. Myexperienceworking in the UK “In my first month at Hartpury, I became a student ambassador, which was my first ever paid job. Finding a job at Hartpury is not difficult. The Innovation Careers and Enterprise team is a great help, especially if you have a specific area of interest. I’ve received great advice from them about career options and temporary jobs and placements. Working while you’re studying helps you develop new skills. My current work as a student ambassador relates to marketing, which is a field I had no previous experience in. It’s allowed me to boost my CV. As an international student, working in the UK gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with the language and learn how some things differ in different countries; this gives you a kick-start into the job market.”

Coming to Hartpury may be the first time you are responsible for managing your money. Our Finance team is always here to help you manage your finances and answer any questions.
