HARTPURY_WELLBEING_BOOKLET_2022

All young people naturally pass through a number of stages as they grow and develop. Often, you will also be expected to cope with changes such as movement from secondary school to college or university. When you first start at Hartpury everything will feel different and strange at first. From being used to being the oldest at school, you may now be the youngest. These changes are commonly referred to as transitions. It is a time of change in many areas of your life, so you will also be facing new feelings and changes in your body too. Some children and young people may have to face very particular and personal transitions including family illness or the death of a close relative, divorce and family break-up, issues related to sexuality, adoption, the process of asylum, disability, parental mental health issues and the consequences of crime. It is important to understand the impact of any change and how you may feel and react. This is an exciting and positive time - the world is yours to explore and enjoy!
