Diploma in Professional Studies Veterinary Nursing

This highly innovative training programme is ideal for employed individuals wanting to qualify as a veterinary nurse while working in practice. The two-year programme consists of four, 12-week semesters where student veterinary nurses will spend one day per week on the Hartpury campus for a total of 48 days, supported by online learning and benefitting from a stimulating training environment, excellent academic teaching and first-class support. Students complete the Nursing Progress Log during their studies as evidence for the RCVS Day One Competences, Skills, and Professional Behaviours for Veterinary Nurses. Successful completion of the Level 5 Higher Education qualification will give eligibility to enter the RCVS Veterinary Nursing Register and allow you to legally practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the UK.

Entry criteria You must have gained full-time paid employment (minimum of 35 hours a week) in a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons-approved veterinary nursing from your employer (usually in the form of a reference) before you can enrol on the course.
