How we support our students Hartpury University, our partners, and other organisations offer a range of financial support packages to eligible students applying for our courses. During 2021/22, one third of Hartpury University students received just under £1 million in the form of bursaries, scholarships and grants. We understand that the cost of living is a key consideration when deciding to go to university and we support our students wherever possible. Maintenance loan As a UK-based student, you'll also be eligible to apply for a means-tested Maintenance Loan to cover your living costs. How much you get depends on your household income, where you study, where you live and how long you’re studying for.* This will be paid directly into your bank account. Maintenance Loans vary between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and are not available to European or international students. How to apply for your loans Apply to your home student loan company from March of the year of study. The application process takes around 20 minutes to complete and 6-8 weeks to review. You can apply for your tuition fee and maintenance loans at the same time. Repayment of student loans The earliest you’ll start to repay your student loan is on 6 April the year after you finish your course. As a UK student, you don’t start repayments on your student loans until you are earning over £25,000 a year.
