With two athletes, the horse and rider, equestrian sport is unique. If you want to improve horse and rider performance, and want to learn how these two athletes interact, this is the ideal course for you. You'll study the principles of sports science on this degree, applying them to equestrian sport. Using real-life case studies, you'll develop your understanding of both the horse and the rider as athletes, from grassroots to elite level. On this course, you’ll learn how to assess both horse and rider performance, monitor and track progress, and implement interventions to aid and enhance successful competitive performance, backed up by scientific evidence and knowledge. You’ll apply what you learn to real-world scenarios using our on-site commercial facilities, Rider Performance Centre and sports laboratories. Industry opportunities The optional integrated placement year on this degree will give you the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience. You could also take part in our exchange programme, studying a semester of your degree in Europe.*
