Advancing and celebrating horse-human partnerships

Working with global partners and organisations, we share evidence-based findings that contribute to conversations around horse welfare and social licence in a collaborative approach. As host for the 2022 International Society for Equitation Science (ISES) Conference, more than 100 industry figures gathered to use their scientific expertise to improve horse welfare and create positive partnerships. Celebrating the Olympic and European champions of today and tomorrow Hartpury’s Festival of Dressage has seen some of the world’s best horses ‘dance’ their way to glory with their human partners, while the International Hartpury Horse Trials often gives clues ahead of the biggest international events and championships. We hosted the 2022 FEI Dressage and Eventing European Championships for Young Riders and Juniors, celebrating the champions of the future. Simply the best London and Rio Olympic dressage sensations, Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro, have been regular visitors to Hartpury over the years. The world-record holders competed at our Festival of Dressage in 2016 and wowed guests in 2018 with a demonstration at our gala evening. Valegro (aka Blueberry) even used the Aquafit water treadmill in our Equine Therapy Centre to prepare for big competitions.
