You’ll develop a range of skills to suit different farming systems in different countries, studying husbandry and handling, nutrition and disease prevention, breeding and genetics. On the livestock side, you’ll explore ruminant production and mono-gastric production systems. Within crop production, you’ll learn how new technologies, such as plant breeding and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), can optimise soil quality and crop yield. Business modules will introduce you to the latest farm management practices and policies, ready to progress into a professional role. Industry opportunities You’ll complete up to 980 hours in industry and have the option to take an integrated placement year. Recently, students have been subsistence farming in Uganda, carrying out crop development research, and working on arable and livestock farms. You'll study a semester in the USA or Canada as part of your degree.* This course is ideal for those who want to progress into an international agricultural career, making a difference in a global farming business.
