We celebrated becomingHartpury University, alongside Hartpury College, in our 70 th anniversaryyear. We enrolled our first PhD students,
Our link with the University of the West of England was forged. We were awarded Associate Faculty status and began developing A rapid expansion programme began, opening new further education courses in agriculture, equine and animal subjects; the first university- level degree – BSc Equine Science – was launched. It's still running today 1997 Post World War II: Hartpury College was established as an agricultural further education provider in Gloucestershire 1949-1953 Alongside 50 male students, the first female students enrolled on our agricultural courses 1990-1994 1999 Our first master's degree – MSc Equine Science – was launched. We now have a diverse portfolio of master's degrees across our subjects areas our university qualifications
European Young Rider Dressage, Showjumping and Cross-Country Championships and opened our commercial Equine Therapy Centre Our first international field trip took place, to Borneo. Our students now regularly travel to exotic locations. Our newdairy unit was opened byHRH, The Princess Royal 2007 Our new Hartpury Arena hosted the FEI World Para Dressage Championships 2012 We made the decision to work towards full university status (Hartpury University) to strengthen our influence and impact 2017 We were rated Teaching Excellence Framework Gold and awarded taught degree awarding powers, which means we can deliver our own taught degrees 2002

2018 We opened our £8.8 million Sports Academy, filled withworld-leading equipment 2019 The launch of our £2 million Agri-Tech Centre for data- driven research that's improving livestock productivity 2021 We received £1.25 million government funding for our Digital Innovation Farm and opened an advanced new dairy parlour for teaching and research 2022 We're hosting two big equine events – the FEI Dressage and Eventing European Championships for Young Riders and Juniors, and the International Society for Equitation Science Conference
