The physical and emotional needs of animals is at the heart of everythingwe do.Workingwith research-active staff, our students contribute to studies that are helping us understand animals like never before. As animal welfare continues to climb the global agenda, the pet care and animal healthmarkets are booming.* You’re joining the animal industry at a very exciting time, with ever- expanding career opportunities. We’re creating an evidence base of best practice that’s changing the way we interact with animals, and we couldn’t do it without the creativity, innovation and new ideas our students contribute. From optimising animal health and performance, to exploring human- animal interactions in zoos, you’ll be helping us find practical solutions to real-world issues. Our access to industry expertise is unrivalled. We host trainers, coaches, behaviourists, veterinary professionals and more on campus. When you’re not learning from specialists in our 70-species animal collection and industry-standard labs, you could be volunteering on our commercial farm, equine yard or canine hydrotherapy to boost your CV. From field trips to zoos, safaris and animal charities, to an optional wildlife experience in South Africa † (course dependent), you’ll be exposed to a range of career opportunities to help you find the one that’s right for you. *The global pet care industry is set to swell to £157 billion by 2025 (Grand View Research 2018).
