Party after dark Doing something different after dark is an exciting part of university life. Gloucester city and Cheltenhamtown are both nearby and arewhere our students often head towhen night falls. From cheesy pop clubs and cocktail bars, to unpretentious indie gigs and cosy caverns, there’s something to suit all tastes. If a bite to eat is on the agenda, you’ll find tasty world cuisines, fine dining and everything in between at Gloucester Quays, the newly developed docklands.

Gloucester is recognised for its first-rate night life. It's one of only 70 UK towns and cities to hold the ATCM Purple Flag

Kick back at music or arts festivals Gloucestershire is widely known as the UK’s ‘festival county’. It’s perfect for those of you who love to kick back at weekends and have fun. From the internationally-acclaimed Cheltenham Literature, Science and Music festivals to the famous 2000Trees Festival, there’s always something going on. You’ll find over 45 music and arts festivals every year. Our Winter, Summer and Freshers' balls are what students look forward to most each year. Recent acts have included Rak-Su, Sigma, Katy B, Lethal Bizzle, Scouting for Girls, Labrinth, Chase and Status, and BBC Radio One DJs Greg James and Scott Mills. That’s one almost every weekend. The highlights of our year
