Exploring Gloucestershire Here are some of our students' top tips for things to do away from campus. Gloucester Quays is a student favourite for outlet shopping and great discounts. Grab lunch and catch a movie with your friends, or enjoy the nightlife at bars and restaurants. Another great place to visit is the historic Gloucester Cathedral, which famously featured in the Harry Potter films. Historic Cheltenham gives you culture, nightlife, and entertainment. Head to the Brewery Quarter for a plethora of things to do − from bars and restaurants, to a cinema, mini golf, bowling, darts, and an escape room, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you live and breathe sports, you’re in the right place. See some of the world’s best racehorses in action at the world-famous Cheltenham Festival, watch Premiership Rugby at Kingsholm Stadium, home to Gloucester Rugby, or football at Cheltenham Town FC. Gloucestershire is home to 45 cultural festivals. From internationally acclaimed Cheltenham literature, science, food and music festivals, to the famous 2000trees music festival, and Lives of Colour Culture Fest − there’s always something fun to do.
