Examine the science underpining equine behaviour and welfare. You’ll apply theory to practice, while developing new expertise to advance your career. Key to the course is understanding the associations between behavioural and management strategies, as well as health and performance. You’ll be encouraged to evaluate human, horse and management system interactions, whilst tailoring the focus of your projects and modules to suit your career goals in relation to equine behaviour and welfare. Professional experience You'll have access to horses in our equestrian centre, as well as via national and international competitions and events on campus. You’ll also benefit from leading industry researchers, guest lecturers and field trips to enhance your learning and networks. Developing the female rider Equestrian dressage is the ultimate test of the rider's ability to train the horse. A PhD study named ‘Dynamic technique analysis of the female equestrian rider’ in collaboration with Hartpury’s Sport and Exercise Science Research Centre is developing the field of rider health, wellbeing, and performance for all dressage riders of all levels and physical ability.
