Endorsed by British Equestrian Federation (BEF), the guidelines are informing the use of water treadmills for horses on the British Equestrian World Class Programme, as well as international governing bodies for therapists and equestrian sports in the UK and across the world. Our facilities, academic experts and industry networks enable us to improve equine performance, health and wellbeing on a global scale.

Saddle science for happy horses Hartpury is at the forefront of research with impact for saddlery design, fit and application, working closely with our partners at the Society of Master Saddlers and the Worshipful Company of Saddlers. Tackling some of the key challenges facing the equestrian sector, including understanding the effect of equipment on horse function and performance, optimisation of saddlery fit and how saddlery design influences rider performance. World's first water treadmill guidelines Hartpury co-produced the world’s first-ever equine hydrotherapy guidelines, Equine Water Treadmill Exercise: A Guide for Users, which now informs the effective training of hundreds of sport horses and racehorses worldwide.
