Our mission as a university is to prepare our students for an increasingly globalised world, where technology and air travel integrates economies, cultures and industries. Our collaborations, curriculums and communities span the globe, enabling us to train highly skilled postgraduates, equipped to innovate in the global sphere. Global networks From academic exchange and research partners in the USA, Canada and Australia to industry partnerships in South Africa, China and Hong Kong, and 20,000 alumni, our networks span far and wide. We make the most of these connections for curricula design, student projects and academic research, as well as work placements and postgraduate careers. International events Our world-class facilities and reputation make us the ideal home for global conferences and events. From the FEI European Championships for Young Riders and Juniors in 2022, to the official training base for Rugby World Cup teams Scotland and the United States, we're a hub of international activity. Global conferences Our students and staff are regularly hopping across the globe to present their research at academic and industry conferences. Recent highlights include the International Society for Anthrozoology Conference, the International Conference on Equine Exercise Physiology and the European College of Sport Science Congress. We were also home to the International Society for Equitation Science conference in 2022, shining a spotlight on equine welfare. Multicultural communities You’ll benefit from a university that’s home to students and staff from over 60 countries worldwide, enabling you to learn about new people and parts of the world. Not only will this give you new experiences and ideas but, developing multicultural knowledge and communication skills will support you to enter a global business environment or work in a different country.
