Our research centres As a PhD student, you'll join a like minded community as part of one of our research centres – home to some of the world's leading academic and industry experts that are working to drive positive change where it matters. Sport and exercise: Developing real-world solutions for individuals, communities, and industry through research that increases understanding of elite sport performance, the role of coaching and sports management, and the health and wellbeing benefits of exercise. Equestrian performance: Determining the role of the horse, the rider and the interaction between them to improve performance, health and welfare across the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, horseracing performance, the role of coaching and sports management, and the health and wellbeing benefits of exercise. Animal and agriculture: Focusing on human animal interaction, specifically zoo animal welfare; improving the health, performance and welfare in canine athletes and companion species; improving agricultural productivity through technology, science and sustainable enterprise.
