A high-performance setting 10 Sports Academies on campus make us the ideal place to develop professional coaching and sports science skills or undertake research to help improve the world of performance and grassroots sport. We’ve produced over 250 international athletes across the past 15 years. We’re also home to competitive squads: Hartpury University RFC Championship team, Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s RFC Premiership Women’s Rugby team, Hartpury University Football Club, Hartpury Futsal Club, Hartpury University Netball Club, and Hartpury University and College Boat Club. We think outside the box, which means our research has real impact, for example, our students and staff are trialling detection dogs as a new way to help protect hedgehog populations from declining as a result of urbanisation.

Outstanding canine expertise Our canine specialisms enable us to drive forward new ways of working to improve athletic performance, health and welfare. Students work on hydrotherapy projects with The Cotswold Dog Spa, assisted therapy projects in our bespoke facilities, and a diverse range of biomechanics, nutrition, physiotherapy and welfare projects with academic staff and different organisations.

Our Canine Hydrotherapy Centre on campus is pioneering new approaches to therapy and rehabilitation for dogs. Students gain experience here and focus their studies on important topical areas.
