Money matters We’re committed to supporting our students. In 2021/22 academic year, we provided financial assistance to over ¼ of our college students through bursaries, scholarships, and additional support, totalling over £1million. In this guide you’ll find information on the costs associated with studying, including tuition fees. Additionally, it outlines the scholarships and bursaries available; offering a range of packages to support you throughout your Hartpury College journey.

Tuition Fees and Funding

UK students under 19 years of age: Tuition is free of charge for the duration of a full-time course, if you’re a UK student under the age of 19 on the 31 August of the academic year your course starts. This includes registration and examination fees for your main qualifications. UK student 19 years of age and over on 31 August: If you are aged 19 or over and want to study A-levels, an Access to Higher Education Diploma, or a level 3 or 4 qualification, you may be required to pay for the cost of your course. This includes tuition and examination fees. Please get in touch for further information. Advanced Learner Loan You can apply for a government-funded loan to help with the cost of a course. Eligibility is not dependant on your income and there are no credit checks. If you are studying the Access to Higher Education (HE) course Student Finance England will write off any outstanding Advanced Learner Loan balances you owe for an Access to HE course once you complete a higher education course. Scholarships and Bursaries

There are several packages available to support you through your studies at Hartpury College. Bursaries and scholarships do not need to be paid back. You can apply for financial support from 1 April in the same year you’re joining us. The following bursaries are available to UK-based students only, for information about international scholarships and bursaries visit www.hartpury.ac.uk/college-bursaries You can find application forms and timelines for applying on our website: www.hartpury.ac.uk/college-finance Discretionary Learner support: All full-time college students regardless of age are eligible to apply for a Learner Support Fund award. This fund is means-tested (dependent on household income) and priority is given to those on low income who would otherwise find it difficult to attend college. To be eligible for this fund, household income should be less than £25,000 per annum. This could cover: the education visits fee, books, equipment, daily meal allowance or transport for non-residential students. Vulnerable Learner Bursary: Students who meet the criteria, and have a financial need, can apply for a bursary for vulnerable groups. The bursary for vulnerable groups can pay up to £1,200 per year. The defined vulnerable groups are students who are: • In care • Care leavers • In receipt of Income Support, or Universal Credit in place of Income Support, in their own right • In receipt of Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit and Disability Living or Personal Independence Payments in their own right

Accommodation Bursary This is a means-tested bursary that can provide students with financial help towards their accommodation costs, where a course is not available within a reasonable daily travelling distance of their home or on a college bus route. For students on a designated course with a requirement to undertake duties outside teaching hours, these rules will not apply. Please note students studying A-levels, Sport, Outdoor Adventure, or Uniformed Protective Services are not eligible to apply for an Accommodation Bursary. In addition, if a student has a horse in onsite livery, they will not be eligible.

Sports Scholarship Hartpury has a limited fund available to assist students who would otherwise be unable to attend college and who, in the opinion of the appropriate Sports Academy Director, has the potential to excel in their chosen sporting field. This is a discretionary fund, where each applicant will need to apply directly to the appropriate Sports Academy manager. Resident students on full-time sports courses at Hartpury College can apply for help with boarding fees from this fund. Our sports scholarship is also available to international students. The Guyll-Leng Bursary Open to applicants from households with limited income wishing to study agriculture, animal, equine and related land-based subjects at a college level. The Guyll-Leng Bursary offers financial assistance for up to three years of study, including work placements, to help new or returning students towards the costs of accommodation, subsistence, travel, trips, sporting participation, books, equipment, and other course related expenses. If a student has a horse in onsite livery, they will not be eligible for this bursary.
