Your enrolment is a key part of joining Hartpury and it starts now. By completing these steps over the next fewmonths, you’ll have everything ready for when you get here. Getting ready for enrolment

Accommodation and livery – If you’ve applied for accommodation or livery, you’ve already paid your deposit and set up your payment plan. You’ll receive your payment schedule after you enrol. Transport If you live locally and have applied to travel on Hartpury transport (see page 13 for how to apply), you’ll need to pay your deposit and set up your payment plan before you enrol. Before you enrol Before you arrive for your enrolment, there are some really important things you need to do. This will help us make your enrolment day as smooth as possible. We’ve included your next steps below, to guide you through the process. Step 1: Fill in your forms You must bring your completed forms with you to enrolment. 1. Visit www.hartpury.ac.uk/ comingtohartpury 2. Fill in the paper copies and keep them somewhere safe. 3. 5. Bring your completed forms to enrolment. Step 2: Make your payments There are some fees to pay before you start, including your educational visits fee. Don’t forget, we offer bursaries for UK students to help with these costs. • Educational visits fee (£85) – Download and print your forms. 4. Check them off on page 14.

Field trips, visits and external speakers are an important part of your student experience. This fee contributes to the cost of speakers, transport for off-site visits, and entry to shows, events, museums, competitions and many other attractions. If you’ve achieved better grades than expected and wish to be considered for a higher level course, please contact our Admissions team. Your application will be reviewed to consider whether this is possible. - Email admissions@hartpury.ac.uk - Call 01452 702244 Confirmation of your results We’ll receive confirmation of GCSE or International Baccalaureate results from the awarding bodies shortly after enrolment. If you submit fraudulent results you’ll be withdrawn from your programme.

What we do with your results For UK students, GCSE results day is 12 August 2021. We know it’s all a bit different, but we wish you good luck. If your offer is conditional on the results you’ll receive this year, you’ll need to go on to our website and let us know your grades as soon as you get them. www.hartpury.ac.uk International students If you get your results before this date, please submit your grades and qualifications to us as soon as possible, using this form www.hartpury.ac.uk/qualification- collection-form What we do with your results If you’ve achieved the grades that you need to meet your offer, it will be made unconditional and we’ll send you confirmation by email. If you haven’t achieved the results you need to meet your offer, try not to worry. We’ll review your application and may still be able to offer you a place on the course, or an alternative. The course tutor may wish to call you to discuss your options. We’ll send you confirmation of our decision by email.

What to bring to enrolment

Did you have any additional exam arrangements at school?

There are a few things that you need to bring to your enrolment day. Please make sure you have the following items. Proof of your exam results Bring a copy of your results transcript or certificates. While everything’s a bit different this year, you’ll still receive proof of results from your school. It’s important you do this, even if your results have been sent to us previously. Passport or driving licence (if you don’t have these, you can bring your birth certificate). Your enrolment forms Visit www.hartpury.ac.uk/comingtohartpury to download and print your forms. Please bring your completed forms to your enrolment. This will help us to make the process as smooth as possible. Aspire learning support and additional needs Our Aspire team are here to support you during your time at Hartpury. Visit our website to read our booklet and see the types of support available to you. www.hartpury.ac.uk/comingtohartpury Please make sure, if you haven’t already, that you provide us with copies of any Educational, Health and Care Plans, Educational Psychologist Reports or individual support plans. Please note, you won’t be able to enrol unless you have a copy of your qualifications with you. Proof of ID

When you’ve taken exams at school, you may have been granted extra time, a reader, scribe or other additional exam help. If you want to be assessed for extra help in exams while you’re here too, it’s important that you visit the Learning Support desk during enrolment and let our team know. You’ll need to bring your Form 8 (J8) from school, signed and dated. Please note, if you don’t bring your Form 8 we won’t be able to highlight your exam needs as a priority and this may delay your application for any special arrangements. International students If you’re an international student with a Student visa, we’ll need to see your passport and your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) at enrolment, if you have collected this. If you requested for your BRP card be sent to Hartpury, it will be waiting for you to collect at enrolment. A copy of these documents will be taken and held with our International Manager as part of UK Visa and Immigration compliance. Visa support

Sign up for short courses in agriculture Did you know that we offer a number of short courses in agriculture? Your enrolment FAQs

Your parents/guardians will be invited to a residential life talk while you enrol. You’ll attend a session in the evening, where you’ll find out more about residential life and our new programme. How do I get to my enrolment? You’ll need to make your own way to your enrolment. If you’ve applied for Hartpury transport (see pages 5 and 13) you’ll be given your bus pass at your enrolment, so you can get the bus home. Please be aware that buses run later during enrolment week, to make sure everyone has finished. Do my parents/guardians need to come to my enrolment? If you’re under 18 years old and live in the UK, you’ll need to be accompanied by your parent/ guardian at your enrolment. I’m an international student, how do I enrol? You’ll take part in all of the same enrolment activities as your course – check the table on pages 9-10 to find your date and time. We’re also organising an International Welcome programme to help you settle into life in the UK and at Hartpury, and support you to make friends and feel at home.

We’ve answered some of your most frequently asked questions below, to help you feel prepared for your enrolment. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please get in touch with us using the contact details on the back page. Where will my enrolment take place? Your enrolment will take place in the College Learning Centre (CLC) – your library and study space. When you arrive, follow signs from the car park to the CLC. There will be plenty of flags flying to show you where to go. Our students will also be on hand to help you find your way. Transport, Accommodation, IT and Aspire learning support teams, as well as your Students’ Union and course tutors. We’ll get you set up and ready to start your college life as part of our #HartpuryFamily. What happens after I’ve enrolled? You’ll have your course induction, where you’ll find out more about your course and start to make friends. Your tutor will provide your induction timetable. Teaching will begin after your induction. I’m a residential student, when can I move in? You’ll get the key to your room once you’ve completed your enrolment. Then you’ll be able settle in and get cosy in your new Hartpury home. What happens at enrolment? You’ll meet our Admissions, Finance,

Getting to college

If you live near Hartpury and are able to go home each day, we run bus services across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire. If you want to travel on Hartpury transport, it’s important that you apply as soon as possible before your enrolment, pay your £100 deposit (refunded if you don’t receive the results for your course) and set up your payment plan. This will ensure that you have a space in September 2021.

College inset days Inset days are additional days off for A-level and diploma students. As such, you won’t be required in college on the following dates – although tutors may require attendance to catch up on any outstanding work.

If you’re an equine student with livery and the inset day falls on a Monday, you may be able to return with your horse on the Sunday. You’ll need to get permission from the Director of Equine.

Your clothing and equipment

Your course includes practical elements to help you prepare for the future. As such, you’ll need to buy some specialist kit and/or equipment in order to complete them. All students Check the red box for things all students need, such as pens, notepads and a laptop – make sure you check it meets the minimum specification guidance. Don’t forget, we offer bursaries to support UK students with these costs. For your course You’ll also need some more specialist things for your subject. Find your course from the list over the next few pages for details. Buying your kit We work with trusted brands to produce high-quality clothing. You can buy the relevant kit for your course or sport online. Place your order as soon as possible to make sure it arrives in time for your enrolment. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not to be worn on the pitches. If inappropriate footwear is worn, you will not be able to take part in the activity. *BSEN1384 hat standards (on their own) won’t be permitted due to regulation changes. Students who wish to take British Horse Society examinations in addition to their main programme will need to adhere to BHS Exams Dress Code. Sport, Outdoor Activites and Uniformed Protective Services students, visit www.hartpuryshop. com to buy your Hartpury kit from Elite Pro Sports. International students You can order you kit online now and have it delivered to Hartpury, so it’s ready for when you arrive. The delivery address is: Student Services, Hartpury College, Gloucester, GL19 3BE – please remember to add your name. Alternatively, you can wait until you arrive in the UK. You’ll be able to try samples at your enrolment and place your order online, to be delivered to your new Hartpury address.
