Our spectacular 360-hectare campus will be the hub of your student life, but it’s also a launch pad for a bigger adventure. We’re right on the doorstep of some of the best attractions, events and landscapes in the country and there’s plenty to choose from, whatever your passion. Living in Gloucestershire The insider’s guide Best for sports fans

Best for the style conscious With all the high street favourites as well as independent boutiques and vintage shops, Cheltenham is the place to go. There’s a free shuttle bus to and from campus at weekends, so you don’t even have to carry all your bags home on the public bus. Best for adrenaline junkies Explore ancient woodland and a dramatic river valley in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Go mountain biking on steep forest tracks, scale rocks or descend into prehistoric caves. If you’re looking for a more relaxing day out, try canoeing down the Wye Valley. Best for foodies You’ll never go hungry on campus, but there are plenty of delicious food options in Gloucester for those times when you fancy something a little different. One of our favourites is Café René, home of the hunger-busting Desperate Dan Burger plus some great veggie options. Why not give it a try?

Take your pick from Cheltenham Racecourse, home of the world- famous Gold Cup, Kingsholm Stadium, the base of Gloucester Rugby who train at Hartpury, and Cheltenham Town FC. You could watch a different sport almost every weekend, if you like. Best for festival fun Home to over 45 festivals, you’ll find your passion celebrated somewhere in the county. From Frightmare horrorfest to 2000trees music festival, immerse yourself in the local festival scene. Cheltenham’s annual Literature, Jazz, Science and Music festivals draw stars from around the world. Best for music fans There are lots of student bars and clubs close to campus, but if you want to move beyond cheesy pop, check out The 2 Pigs. This friendly Cheltenham club runs alternative music nights, late night karaoke and indie discos. Best for a bonkers tradition When it comes to celebrating the weird, Gloucestershire does it best! Cheese rolling is probably the most famous of our bizarre events. You can watch the bold and the brave hurtle down Coopers Hill after a huge Double Gloucester each spring bank holiday!
